Heacham made a winning start to their Anglian Combination Premier Division campaign with an excellent opening-day display at home to Dussindale.
First-half goals from Ben Coe and John Flanagan wrapped up the three points in a game Heacham should have been out of sight by the interval.
The Magpies showed no signs of nerves on their Premier Division bow against a visiting side who had beaten Acle United 3-0 in midweek.
Heacham created a host of chances in the opening 45 minutes with the front three of Jack Defty, John Flanagan and Nathan Davies running the visitors ragged.
Early headers from Defty and Flanagan came close to breaking the deadlock before Liam Mitchell, who had an impressive game on his Magpies' debut, went close to converting a cross from the former Linnets frontman.
Brilliant work from Davies, who terrorised the visitors with his pace, set up Defty to drill wide as the hosts continued to up the ante.
The only surprise was the fact that it took Heacham until the 28th minute to open their account for the season.
Flanagan saw his half-volley blocked by the overworked visiting defence and the ball fell kindly for Coe to smash home from just inside the box.
A vicious volley from Coe was turned over the woodwork by the visiting goalkeeper who also saved brilliantly with his legs following a mazy run from Davies.
Heacham doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time as a Mitchell throw-in was laid off by Defty into the path of Flanagan to do the rest.
The closest the visitors came to replying came early in the second half when their forward grazed the Heacham post.
Flanagan was twice denied by the visiting goalkeeper as Heacham continued to carve out opportunities, but it was all about game management as the hosts comfortably held on to their two-goal advantage.
There were a string of fine performances across the pitch and on this evidence the Magpies will be a major force in the league this season.
