Heacham moved four points clear at the top of the Anglian Combination Premier table - but only after they were given a scare by Scole United.
The Magpies were coasting to victory after a brace from in-form striker Connor Young gave them a two-goal advantage going into the break.
But Scole were a different side after the interval and, although John Flanagan restored Heacham's two-goal cushion at 3-1 after the visitors had pulled a goal back, the league leaders were pushed all the way by their closest rivals.
Manager David Griggs said: "They were the best side we've played this season by far, especially in the second half.
"Their two goals came from mistakes by us and although they didn't create much else they are still a very good side.
"We started really well in the first half, but to be fair to them they came at us in the second half and were good all over the park."
Heacham were boosted by the return of Ben Coe who returned as a substitute following a recent three-game suspension.
Young has now helped himself to five goals in his last two games and has scored eight times for the club this season, three of which have come from the bench.
"If we win our two games in hand on Scole we'll be ten points clear of them but we can't get ahead of ourselves," said Griggs.
"We've beaten both Wroxham Reserves and Scole United but we will assess where we are after ten games and take it from there."
The Magpies have continued their incredible momentum stretching back to 2018/19 in which they have only lost two cup games during that time.
