Heacham Village Monthly News Letter 12 of 29

12. March 2023 Edition

THE TEAMS
The first team are still sitting proudly at the top of the Thurlow Nunn Division 1 North League and the good news is that they are now a point ahead of Framlingham Town and also have a game in hand. Downham Town are still a threat in the play-offs and the home game v Downham ( 11th March) could play a pivotal part in the final positions in the league table come the end of the season. I think there may be many more twists and turns before the end of the season but with a number of home games to come, it is important to get behind the team. So please come down to the Sports Field, Station Road and give them your support. Recent results have been as follows:-

Diss Town drew 1-1 away
Huntingdon Town won 3-0 away

Up and coming 1st team fixtures (all league):-

Friday 24th Feb v Swaffham Town home - this will be a 7.45 k.o. and marks a truly significant moment in the history of Heacham F.C. The very first game under floodlights at Heacham Sports Field. All full report will appear in the April issue of the Newsletter.

Also good to report that the Reserves still sit proudly at the top of the North West Norfolk Division 1 league. They have a 2 point advantage ahead of Ingoldisthorpe. Recent results have been as follows:-
Marshland Saints won 4-2 home
Terrington Tigers - game postponed, Terrington unable to field a team. This will go down as an away win to Heacham.

The Reserves started their League Cup campaign in fine form and recorded an excellent 5-0 away victory against Watlington Res. In the quarter final they have a home tie v Docking Rangers on Saturday 18th February k.o.2pm ( a full report will be in April's newsletter).
