"WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS"

Heacham F C will be playing in the Thurlow Nunn next season after clinching the Anglian Combination Premier Division following a resounding 5-0 home win against Norwich CEYMS, watched by a record home crowd of nearly 150. The league title was achieved with still 6 games to play. This tops a remarkable rise from the North West Norfolk League, Division 1 in the space of just 7 years. A promotion party is planned on St. George's Day 23rd April when Beccles Town will be the visitors and the Club will receive the Championship Trophy, the Sterry Cup. This brilliant achievement this season has been down to a collective effort all the way throughout the club, from the Chairman, the players, management team, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and not forgetting the wonderful support the team has had from the Supporters, both home and away.
Here are details of the teams recent results:-
Blofield (away) won 4-0
Waveney (home) won 2-0
Acle (away) lost 0-1 (the first league defeat of the season to report)
Norwich CEYMS (home) won 5-0
Caister (away) drew 3-3
Bradenham Wanderers (away) won 9-1
Remaining fixtures:-
April 23rd Beccles Town (home) k.o. 2.30
April 30th Scole United (away) k.o. 2.30
May 2nd Dussindale (away) k.o.12 noon
May 7th Long Stratton (away) k.o. 2.30

Meanwhile the Reserve team have nearly completed their season and they have had a mixed bag of results in recent times:-
KLSC (home) lost 0-6
Birchwood (home) won 4-0
Watlington (away) lost 0-3 (league Cup s/f)
Birchwood (away) - game conceded (unable
to raise full team).
The Reserves final game v Watlington (home) is scheduled for April 23rd k.o. 2.30
This means that the Reserves will probably now finish in 3rd place.

With promotion to the Thurlow Nunn secured, ground improvements have been made and will continue throughout the coming months. Also planning permission has been granted for the installation of floodlights.

The Supporters Club has flourished this season and membership has now reached a staggering 178 members (from 112 last season). The Facebook page has now 372 followers. The "100 Club" has proved to be a great success this year and recent winners have been: No.74 Duane Gowen (March) and No.16 Matthew Stevens (April), who both won £50. The draw for May is scheduled to take place on the 7th May. If you want more information and the benefits of joining the Supporters Club, then please get in touch by contacting me on the email address shown.

With the prospect of larger crowds next season we are still looking for volunteers to help out on match days. It's a great friendly club/atmosphere and if you would like to join our "family " please get in touch.
